Limestone VINELink Is Now IVSS
Texas ended its legacy county-level VINE service and moved to Texas IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. Existing registrations migrated, according to the Texas Attorney General. Text and telephone delivery also moved to a different provider. Older pages that tell Limestone users to begin at VINELink or rely on the former call workflow are now stale.
IVSS-Counties can offer event notices for booking, jail release, transfer including transfer to TDCJ, escape, death, and court changes when the county interface participates. Participation is not universal. Confirm that Limestone is available in the live portal or call current support at 866-268-8959. Support is listed as available around the clock in English and Spanish.
TDCJ maintains a separate IVSS for state custody, parole, and mandatory supervision. It is not a second route to an ordinary county bond release. Choose the service by custodian, not merely by the fact that a Limestone case or resident is involved.
Search Limestone County IVSS
Prepare identifiers before opening the portal. Full names can collide, and one person can have more than one booking. A booking number, jail ID, SID, DOC ID, date of birth, or cause number helps isolate the right episode. Compare at least two stable facts when the result screen supplies them.
- Open IVSS-Counties and use the first-name then last-name order shown by the portal.
- Enter a full or partial name, DOC ID, SID, jail ID, or permanent booking number.
- If spelling is uncertain, try at least the first three letters of the first name, a space, and the first three letters of the last name.
- Complete the captcha and compare each candidate with the identifiers and agency details available.
- Open only the matching record, then select the notification option if Limestone's interface offers it.
- Record the search time and confirm any reported event with the jail or court.
Do not merge two records based on a shared name, age, or photo. A TDCJ person convicted in Limestone is not necessarily the person from a current county booking. If no match appears, test known spelling and identifiers, then contact support or the Limestone County Jail. A missing result is not a release finding.

The live county interface may expose enough custody, supervision, agency, and identity information to select a person and register for alerts. Fields vary by participating agency, so the table describes their function without promising that every Limestone result displays each value.

The portal warns that its information is not an official record. It also warns that people no longer in custody may not appear. A registration can stay active after a person disappears from search results. For a released person, the useful evidence may therefore be the saved alert followed by the Sheriff's affirmative release or transfer entry, not a lasting “released” profile.
Register Limestone Release Notices
After selecting the correct person, use the notification control offered by the current interface. County event types can include jail release and transfer, but availability depends on agency participation and the live choices displayed. Protect registration details, especially where an account or personal contact channel is used.

The current official IVSS-Counties materials reviewed do not publish a PIN confirmation step. Do not invent one. The former Texas VINE telephone workflow used a four-digit PIN followed by the pound sign to acknowledge calls, but that is historic information. Current users should follow only the controls and support directions in IVSS-Counties.
Limestone Alerts Need Confirmation
A notification is a prompt to verify, not a certified release record. Call the Limestone County Jail at 254-729-3278 and identify the exact booking. Ask whether county custody ended, the date and time, the release reason or code, and any transfer destination that is public. If historic detail is unavailable by phone, request the booking and release entry under the Texas Public Information Act.
Then read the court file. The County Clerk handles misdemeanor access, while the District Clerk handles felony district-court matters. A signed bond, dismissal, judgment, or release order identifies legal authority. The jail entry supplies the physical custody time. One can precede the other, and an unrelated hold can keep a person confined after one case changes.
If the Limestone entry says transfer, follow the named receiving authority. A county-to-TDCJ handoff is not release from state prison. Transfer to ICE, USMS, or another county also means the local segment ended while custody may continue elsewhere.

TDCJ also accepts victim-notification requests at 800-848-4284, by email at victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov, or through its Victim Services Division. Those channels apply to TDCJ events. They do not turn a county release alert into a state discharge record. If a person fully leaves TDCJ and no longer appears in a current-only inmate search, request the incarceration history and release or discharge information from TDCJ.
Limestone Release Event Meanings
Read event words literally and keep each custody segment distinct. “Release” may refer only to the reporting agency. “Transfer” identifies a handoff. Parole and mandatory supervision place a person in the community under state supervision, while discharge records the end of the relevant sentence or supervision segment.

Escape and death are custody-ending or interrupting events but are not ordinary community-release outcomes. Do not place them in a reentry-oriented list. Obtain the agency's incident record before describing the circumstances.
Limestone Federal Alert Limits
Neither IVSS-Counties nor TDCJ IVSS is the general locator for BOP, USMS, or ICE custody. A sentenced federal prisoner may appear in the BOP locator. A result marked RELEASED with a past federal release date means the person is no longer in BOP custody, but it does not rule out supervision or another jurisdiction. Some USMS detainees never enter BOP locator coverage.
For a federal pretrial detainee, use the federal court docket and USMS records. For ICE, search the Online Detainee Locator System promptly because the public scope includes released-person information for only a limited period. An ICE no-result after that period proves nothing about the type or date of the event.
DHS-VINE is a specialized immigration notification route for qualified users. It is not a county release archive. When the Limestone County Detention Center is involved, identify whether LaSalle, USMS, ICE, BOP, or another authority controlled the custody segment before choosing a search.
Limestone Missing Result Workflow
Angle E is especially important in Limestone County because there is no verified official 24-hour or 72-hour release view. IVSS-Counties also warns that a released person can disappear. Record the exact query, spelling, identifier, selected agency, and search time. A later attempt may differ because the interface changed, the person moved, or the source corrected a field. That search log lets the jail or IVSS support diagnose the issue without turning an empty screen into a claim about release.
